How to cancel
Cancel from the My Bookings page in your account, or write to hello@goglobally.local from the address the booking was made with. A cancellation takes effect when we receive it, not when you decide — so send it, and keep the acknowledgement. We acknowledge every cancellation in writing with the amount being refunded.
A phone call is not a cancellation. We will act on a call, but the date that counts is the date of your written instruction.
Tour packages — the cancellation schedule
Charged on the total package cost, counted from the departure date:
- 30 days or more before departure — 10% of the package cost is retained
- 29 to 15 days — 25% is retained
- 14 to 8 days — 50% is retained
- 7 to 4 days — 75% is retained
- Under 4 days, or no-show — no refund
On top of the slab above, anything a supplier has already charged us and will not return is deducted as charged: an issued air ticket, a non-refundable hotel night, a train or bus ticket, a visa fee, a permit, an insurance premium, a cruise deposit, an event ticket. We show each of these as a line on the cancellation statement rather than folding them into a single number, because you are entitled to see where the money went.
Flights
The airline's fare rules decide this, not us. A refundable fare refunds what its rules allow; a promotional or non-refundable fare may return only statutory taxes, and some return nothing at all. We show the fare rules before you pay and repeat them on the ticket.
- Airline cancellation and change fees are deducted as charged by the airline
- Our service fee of ₹500 per passenger per sector is retained on a cancellation
- Where an airline cancels or reschedules a flight, you are entitled to what its policy and DGCA rules give you, and we will pursue it on your behalf at no charge. An airline's refund reaches us on its own timetable — typically 15 to 90 days — and we pass it on within 3 working days of receiving it.
Hotels
Each rate carries its own policy, shown at the time of booking and on the voucher:
- Free cancellation rates: cancelled before the stated deadline, refunded in full less the gateway charge
- Non-refundable rates: no refund, at any notice. These are cheaper precisely because of that
- After the deadline, or a no-show: usually the first night or the full stay, as that rate specifies
Bus tickets
Operator rules apply, and they are typically:
- More than 24 hours before departure — 10% deducted
- 24 to 12 hours — 25% deducted
- 12 to 4 hours — 50% deducted
- Under 4 hours, or no-show — no refund
A bus cancelled by the operator is refunded in full.
Where we cancel
If we cancel a trip for a reason within our control — too few travellers to operate a group departure, for instance — you get a full refund with no deduction at all, or a credit for a future trip plus a goodwill allowance if you prefer one. We aim to tell you at least 21 days before departure for a group tour.
Where nobody is at fault
A trip stopped by something outside anyone's control — a government order, a border closure, war or civil unrest, an epidemic, a natural disaster, an airport shutdown, a supplier's insolvency — is dealt with as section 8 of the Terms and Conditions describes: we recover what suppliers will return and pass it on, less what is irrecoverably spent and our documented cost. We cannot refund money a supplier keeps, and we will show you what we recovered. Travel insurance usually covers this gap, and it is why we ask every traveller to buy it.
Partial use, and things you did not use
No refund is due for any part of a trip you choose not to take — an unused hotel night, a sightseeing tour you skipped, a meal you did not attend, an early departure. A traveller who leaves a tour mid-way is responsible for their own onward arrangements and costs.
How long a refund takes
- We process an approved refund within 7 working days of agreeing the amount.
- It then takes your bank or card issuer 5 to 10 working days to show it. That part is not ours and we cannot speed it up.
- A refund that depends on an airline or hotel returning money to us first takes as long as that supplier takes. We will tell you what we are waiting for and chase it.
- Refunds go back to the original payment method, always. We cannot send a card payment to a bank account — the card networks do not permit it, and it is also how refund fraud works. If the card is closed, your bank will still route it to you.
- Payment gateway charges on the original transaction are not returned to us by the gateway and are therefore not refundable.
If you disagree with a deduction
Write to hello@goglobally.local with your booking reference and ask for the cancellation statement. We will show you each line and the supplier document behind it. If you are still not satisfied, the Grievance Redressal process is the next step, and it has a named officer and a deadline.
Chargebacks
Please talk to us before raising a chargeback with your bank. A chargeback on a booking we are already refunding freezes the whole amount for weeks and helps nobody. Where a chargeback is raised on a validly delivered service we will contest it with the booking records.
